šŸ“˜ Volume 2 ā€“ The Locked Door

By Pastor Terry

ā€œBehold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and dine with him, and he with Me.ā€ ā€“ Revelation 3:20 (NKJV)

Bobby was fourteen when the storm came through. The tornado sirens wailed, the sky turned green, and the family rushed to the old cellar out back. Everyone made it except Grandpa.

Heā€™d gone to the cellar earlier that morning, locking the door from the inside for some peace and prayer time. But when the storm hit, they pounded and shoutedā€”ā€œGrandpa! Itā€™s us! Open the door!ā€

No answer. He was in there all right, but heā€™d removed his hearing aid to focus on the Lord, unaware they were outside.

They survived by Godā€™s graceā€”sheltered under a concrete slab in a neighborā€™s ditch. But Bobby never forgot what it felt likeā€¦to be locked out while someone was inside.

Reflection: Now flip the story.

What if itā€™s JesusĀ standing outside the door, knockingā€”while weā€™re the ones inside? Distracted, deafened, too busy praying for blessings without letting Him in?

The greatest tragedy in life isnā€™t a storm that hitsā€”itā€™s a Savior we ignore. Heā€™s not banging down the door. Heā€™s knocking. Gently. Patiently.

Revelation 3:20 isnā€™t just poeticā€”itā€™s urgent. Heā€™s not speaking to strangers. Heā€™s knocking on the door of people who already think theyā€™re safe. Churchgoers. People like us.

If we listen, truly listen, weā€™ll hear the knock. And if we open, Heā€™ll come inā€”and everything will change.

Don't let Jesus be the One left standing outside.
