Title: "Waking Up to Being Woke."

**Scripture**: *Ephesians 5:14*

"Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."

**Sermon:**

We hear the term "woke" everywhere today. It initially meant being aware of injustice, oppression, and the things happening around us. And there's nothing wrong with being awake to the world's brokenness. But the question is: What are we really waking up to?

Our culture wants us to "wake up" to specific ideas about justice, equality, and freedom, but often, it leaves out the most crucial part: waking up to Christ's truth. Ephesians 5:14 says, "Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." Paul isn't just talking about being physically awake—he's talking about waking up Spiritually.

We live in a world that wants us to focus on fixing things through human efforts alone, without acknowledging the deep Spiritual need for Christ at the center. True "wokeness" isn't just about seeing injustice; it's about waking up to the reality that our world is broken because of sin. And the only proper solution is Jesus.

Jesus didn't just come to raise awareness; He raised the dead. He came to wake us up from spiritual slumber, from sin, and from the lies we've been told about what can fix this world.

Being truly "woke" means recognizing that no amount of human effort, social reform, or activism can change the most profound issues of our hearts. Only Jesus can do that. We don't just need to wake up to the problems around us; we need to wake up to the Savior who can change them.

**Altar Call:**

Today, I want to challenge you—are you awake? Not just awake to what's happening in the world, but awake to your need for Christ? If you've been searching for truth in the wrong places, it's time to wake up to Jesus, the only One who can bring real, lasting change.

If you're ready to let Christ shine on you, pray with me:

"Lord Jesus, I confess I've been asleep to Your truth. I've tried to find answers to the world's ideas, but now I realize only You can change my heart. Wake me up to Your light. Forgive, fill me with Your Spirit, and guide me in Your truth. Amen."

If you prayed that prayer, you're not just awake—you're alive in Christ. Now go and share the light of His truth with a world still in darkness.
