"This Is a God Thing!"

Key Scripture: "Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the Lord of hosts." — Zechariah 4:6

Introduction:

People are amazed at the rapid and unexpected changes in America today—changes that seemed impossible by all logical standards. Many attribute these shifts to political maneuvering, a party's strategy, or the election of key figures. But let's be clear: when change comes at such a miraculous speed and defies human effort, it is nothing less than a God thing!

1. God, Not Government, Raises and Brings Down Nations

Scripture: "He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding." — Daniel 2:21

  • No political party or leader can take credit for the divine reversal of national direction. Throughout history, God has orchestrated the rise and fall of kings, governments, and nations.

  • Example: Nebuchadnezzar, a powerful king, was humbled by God until he acknowledged that it was the Most High who ruled over nations (Daniel 4:34-37).

2. God Answers the Prayers of His People

Scripture: "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." — 2 Chronicles 7:14

  • The changes we see are not the result of a political majority but of millions of prayers lifted before the throne of God.

  • When God's people cry out in desperation, He moves on behalf of the nation.

  • Example: Israel repeatedly fell into sin and oppression, but every time they repented and prayed, God sent deliverance—whether through Gideon (Judges 6-7), Deborah (Judges 4), or Samuel (1 Samuel 7).

3. God Moves Suddenly, Beyond Human Ability

Scripture: "Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." — Isaiah 43:19

  • This kind of rapid turnaround is God's way of proving that no man, no political figure, and no earthly institution can take the credit.

  • Example: In 2 Kings 7, the prophet Elisha declared that famine would turn into abundance within 24 hours. The king's advisor scoffed, but God miraculously used lepers and the enemy's own fear to bring deliverance—proving that only God could have done it!

4. God Chooses Imperfect Vessels to Fulfill His Plans

Scripture: "The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes." — Proverbs 21:1

  • Leaders, whether righteous or wicked, are mere instruments in God's hand.

  • Example: Cyrus, a pagan king, was prophesied 150 years before his birth to be God's instrument to rebuild Jerusalem (Isaiah 44:28, Ezra 1:1-2).

  • Lesson: If God could use a pagan king to fulfill His purposes, how much more can He shift the hearts of leaders today for His glory?

5. The Glory Must Go to God Alone!

Scripture: "I am the Lord, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to carved images." — Isaiah 42:8

  • Attributing God's work to a political movement can be dangerous because it shifts glory away from God and onto human effort.

  • Illustration: When Gideon's army was reduced from 32,000 to 300 (Judges 7), God ensured Israel couldn't boast in their own strength. Likewise, today, the speed and scope of change ensure that no party or leader can claim the credit—only God gets the glory!

Conclusion:

If a political party had orchestrated these changes, they would have been gradual, compromised, and incomplete. But the swiftness, magnitude, and impossibility of what we see unfolding declare loud and clear: "This is a God thing!"

Final Scripture: "That your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God." — 1 Corinthians 2:5

Call to Action:

Instead of praising a party, let's give glory to God, remain in prayer, and continue standing for truth because He is the One who holds America's destiny in His hands.
