“I will not come down from the wall.” — Nehemiah 6:3
I am a Watchman—Set by God, Not Appointed by Men.
“Son of man, I have made you a watchman… hear a word from My mouth and give them warning from Me.”— Ezekiel 3:17 (NKJV)
I did not choose this calling; it chose me. I do not stand here for popularity but for purpose. I will not climb down to please the crowd or soften the truth to ease their ears. I am stationed where Heaven placed me.
I See, I Speak, and I Stand.
“When he sees the sword coming… he blows the trumpet and warns the people.”— Ezekiel 33:3 (NKJV)
I will stay alert. I will remain awake while others sleep. I will sound the alarm when danger approaches—whether it be sin, deception, or destruction. I am not silent. I speak not my opinions but the Word of the Lord.
I Weep Before I Warn.
“I have set watchmen on your walls… they shall never hold their peace… You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent.”— Isaiah 62:6 (NKJV)
I carry both sword and tears. Before I cry out to the people, I cry out to God. I plead for mercy before declaring judgment. My heart breaks for the lost, even as I warn them of coming wrath.
I Stand in the Gap When Others Step Back.
“So I sought for a man… who would stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land.”— Ezekiel 22:30 (NKJV)
Though the wall may be cold and the nights long, I remain in position. I will not flinch. I will not fold. When others grow weary, I will endure. I will pray, I will intercede, and I will believe for revival, even when others give up.
I Am Accountable to God Alone.
“But if the watchman sees the sword… and does not blow the trumpet… his blood I will require at the watchman's hand.”— Ezekiel 33:6 (NKJV)
I do not fear rejection. I fear disobedience. I will not stand before God with blood on my hands. I will fulfill my duty with humility and urgency. I’d rather be hated for warning the wicked than be praised for keeping quiet.
I Will Not Come Down.
“I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down.”— Nehemiah 6:3 (NKJV)
When mockers mock and tempters tempt, I will not descend. I will not be distracted by applause or attacked by threats. My eyes are on the horizon. My ears are tuned to Heaven. My feet are planted on the wall.
Until the Trumpet Sounds… I Will Stand.
“Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.”— Matthew 24:42 (NKJV)
I am a Watchman.I will not sleep.I will not be silent.I will not come down.I will stand—until He comes.
So help me, God.
