Mini-Sermon for Children: "Learning to Obey."

Key Verse: "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right." – Ephesians 6:1 (ESV)

Message:

God loves children and wants them to live happy, joyful lives. One way we show God that we love Him is by obeying our parents. When we listen to our parents, we honor God because He has placed them in our lives to teach us and protect us.

Obedience might not always feel easy. Sometimes, we want to do things our own way, but God tells us that listening to our parents is the right thing to do. Jesus obeyed His parents even as a child (Luke 2:51). He is the best example of how we should live, and He promises to help us when it feels hard to obey.

Illustration:

Think about how plants grow. When they are watered and get sunlight, they grow tall and strong. Obedience is like water and sunlight for your heart—it helps you grow strong in God's love. When we obey our parents and God, we become more like Jesus daily.

Call to Action:

Next time your parents ask you to do something, remember that you are not just obeying them—you are showing love to God, too. Ask Jesus to help you follow with a good attitude, and He will give you the strength to do what's right.

Prayer:

Dear Jesus, thank You for loving me and giving me parents who care for me. Help me to listen to them and obey with a happy heart. I want to follow You and grow in Your love every day.

In Jesus Name, Amen.
