Good day! Here's a devotion for Wednesday, March 1, 2023, based on Four (4) points :
God's View of Tenderness:
God's view of tenderness is evident throughout the Bible. In Isaiah 40:11, God is described as a gentle shepherd who will gather His flock and carry them in His arms. Jesus also showed tenderness when He healed the sick and fed the hungry. In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
My Hope:
Our hope comes from God's promise of Salvation and loves for us. Romans 8:24-25 says, "For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently." Our hope is not in our abilities or accomplishments but in the saving work of Christ.
How Do I Change:
To change, we must turn to God and allow Him to transform us. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says, "And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." We must also repent of our sins and seek forgiveness from God. Psalm 51:10 says, "Create a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me."
How Do I Stay Changed:
We must stay connected to God and continue to seek Him. John 15:5 says, "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing." We can stay changed by reading and studying God's Word, praying, attending church, and serving others. Galatians 5:22-23 says, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things, there is no law."
Let us pray: Heavenly Father, we thank you for your tenderness and love towards us. Please help us to place our hope in you alone and to seek your transforming power in our lives. Please help us to stay connected to you and to bear the fruit of your Spirit. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
