Theme: The Parent’s Role in Raising Children

1. Sermon: Teach Them Diligently

Text: Deuteronomy 6:6–7 — “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children…”

Main Point: God has given parents the primary responsibility for raising children—not the state, schools, or church. Parents are called to teach, model, and live the Word of God in their homes and on the go.

Outline:- Truth must first be in our hearts before we can pass it on-

Teaching must be diligent, not occasional-

The teaching is in daily life—when we sit, walk, lie down, and rise up.

Jesus emphasized childlike faith and warned against causing children to stumble (Matt. 18:6)-

Parents who train up their children in the Lord build a foundation that lasts (Prov. 22:6)

Call to Action: Don’t Outsource Your Influence. Parents, reclaim the role of Spiritual guides in your home. Start with prayer. Continue with Scripture. Be intentional every day.

2. Short Story: The Kitchen Table Revival

Twelve-year-old Mikey slouched at the table, scrolling mindlessly on his phone. His dad, Tom, glanced across and quietly set down his Bible.“Let’s read something together, son. Just for five minutes.”Mikey sighed. “Do I have to?”Tom smiled, “No. But I get to. And I’d like to share it with you.”They read one Psalm. The next day, they read two. A week later, Mikey asked to pray. Three weeks in, they began discussing forgiveness. Once a silent zone, the kitchen table became a place of revival—not with shouting, but with Scripture, not with sermons, but with sincerity.

3. Poem: Write It on the Doorposts

Write it on the doorposts,

Speak it in the day,

Tie it to your morning steps,

And never drift away.

Teach them when they're rising,

Guide them when they fall,

For children learn the voice of God

By how they hear you call.

Don’t wait for Sunday morning,

Start while they are near,

Your home’s the first cathedral,

Where truth becomes sincere.

4. Quote of the Day

"The greatest sermon your child will ever hear is the one you live every day." – Pastor Terry

5. Question of the Day

What does my child know about God—because they’ve seen it in me?

6. From Moses to the Messiah

In Deuteronomy 6:4–9, God doesn’t just give a law—He provides a blueprint for generational transformation. The command is clear: parents must diligently teach their children God's truth.

This wasn’t a Sunday ritual or a one-time ceremony but a daily lifestyle built into home, movement, rest, and rising. The Hebrew word for “diligently” (shanan) means to sharpen—like a blade.

God’s Word is to be carved into their understanding. This sharpness isn’t harsh but intentional. Fast-forward to Jesus. In Matthew 18:5, He says, “Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.”

In other words, how we treat children is how we treat Christ Himself. Then He raises the stakes in verse 6: “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better… to have a millstone hung around his neck.”

That’s divine seriousness. So why is this important now? We’ve seen the state step in, and parents have stepped back. And what’s being taught? Identity confusion, rebellion as a virtue, and the erasure of truth.

The solution isn’t just in better laws—it’s in better parenting. Not perfect parenting, not Pinterest parenting, but Biblically faithful parenting—living and teaching God’s truth through the everyday rhythms of life. When we do this, we’re not just raising kids—we’re raising up disciples.
