🌍 THE WORLD’S WAY VS. THE WORD’S WAY.

“Caring for Creation: Trend or Testament?”

🌐 1. The World’s Way: Environmentalism Without the Creator

Motive:

  • Save the planet... for the planet’s sake.

  • Driven by fear: “If we don’t act now, we’ll destroy ourselves.”

  • Man-centered and often God-less.

  • Worships creation instead of the Creator (see Romans 1:25).

  • Pushes policies without prayer, and often shames instead of shepherds.

Methods:

  • Activism rooted in guilt, panic, or politics.

  • Solutions that often ignore human dignity (e.g., population control).

  • Moral confusion: protect trees more than unborn babies.

✝️ 2. The Christian Way: Stewardship as Worship

Motive:

  • Obey God’s first command: “Tend and keep the garden” (Genesis 2:15).

  • Honor the earth not because it’s sacred, but because God is.

  • Care for creation as a reflection of loving the Creator.

  • Driven by hope, not fear — and always pointing to redemption.

Methods:

  • Teach that we are managers, not owners: “The earth is the Lord’s...” (Psalm 24:1).

  • Model responsible living: avoid waste, protect life, support sustainable good.

  • Speak truth in love — not shame, but discipleship: “Let’s honor God in how we live.”

🌱 Illustration: The Landlord’s House

Imagine someone giving you the keys to their beautiful house and saying,

“Take care of it like it’s your own until I return.”

Would you trash it, pollute it? Of course not. You’d want them to walk in and say, “Well done.” That’s what Christian stewardship is — not “saving the planet” like heroes, but keeping the house clean for the King.

📖 Scriptures That Ground It:

  • Genesis 1:28: “Have dominion...” — not domination, but godly responsibility.

  • Psalm 104: God rejoices in His works. His creation praises Him!

  • Romans 8:22: Creation groans, waiting for the sons of God to be revealed — the planet is tied to redemption history.

  • Colossians 1:16–17: “All things were made through Him and for Him…”

🕊️ docbmedia.com Explanation:

The world recycles out of fear. The Church reclaims out of faith. We don't save creation to worship it — we care for creation because we worship the One who made it.Stewardship is kingdom responsibility, not climate panic. It’s preparing a world where Jesus will return and reign.
